Our Class of 2022 headed to Circle F Dude Ranch in Lake Wales, Florida, for an adventurous few days of team building and fun! The students rode horses, kayaked, ziplined and learned about astronomy and nature. In an effort to give back to their school, our seniors will be on the Main Campus on Tuesday, March 8th, working in the classrooms supporting teachers as well as with the maintenance team completing odd jobs as needed. These students will earn service hours for their time while they demonstrate strong work ethic and strength of character for younger students in Primary, Elementary and Middle School. The Class of 2022 will be treated to a pizza lunch after their work day. Cushman’s Administration is sponsoring the Class of 2022 trip to Universal’s Islands of Adventures in Orlando. Seniors will enjoy an exciting night of camaraderie, entertainment and thrilling rides with their friends. This marks a ceremonial rite of passage for our seniors as they receive their Cushman Cougar rings. At this invitation-only evening, a group of our high school students reveals their year-long Society and Me outreach projects and accomplishments. The SAM Challenge is a unique course offering mandatory for all Cushman High School students in which they analyze global issues and develop local solutions. Students and parents are invited to decorate their cars and participate in a celebration of goodbyes driving from our main campus to our high school. The best-decorated car wins prime seating at Graduation. Seniors have invited their junior classmates to enjoy a night of dining, dancing, and fun. This formal event is circled around an exciting theme with creative décor when seniors celebrate their time spent at Cushman. This traditional ceremony elevates the junior class to the leaders of the school and serves as an official send-off to our seniors. Graduates exchange a candle (a symbol of leadership, wisdom and knowledge) with a junior. In return, Graduates receive a rose as a symbol of love and friendship. This ceremony is followed by our parent/student lunch. We hope to enjoy the Class of 2022 Graduation in our Paly to Learn Performing Arts and Athletic Center expected to be completed in the spring. However, if this facility is not ready to host our seniors, we will return to The Miami Shores Theatre Center for this beautiful event.
