Jimena Astorqui
It’s my first year at Cushman, so my Cushman journey has been brief, but still great. I have really enjoyed spending time with my new friends. I have also loved developing my hobby of creating works of art and I have benefitted tremendously from Cushman’s music and visual arts programming. This is my first year at Cushman, so my overall favorite memory has been meeting new people, which has been easy in Cushman’s friendly environment. I’ve received sports awards in volleyball, swimming and soccer. I hope to be remembered as a good human being with great sports skills and a passion for music and art. I would also like to be remembered for my kindness and ability to help others. Adriana Reynolds Cushman School Director of Personalization grades 6-12 About Jimena Astorqui
SAM Project
Being a new student this year, I really did not know what to expect from my Society and Me class. I decided to follow my passion for helping children and it has proved to be very rewarding. So far this year, I held a drive at school collecting items such as gently used backpacks and school supplies for kids who do not have the resources to purchase them. Additionally, I discovered that Big Brothers and Big Sisters is an organization where I hope to volunteer once COVID allows me to. I want to make a positive impact on these students and help them to feel hope and achieve success.
